Kinesiotape Application / Education

Elastic therapeutic taping applied in the clinic, and taught so you or your athlete can reapply it at home.

About kinesiotape application / education at Peak

Kinesiology tape is a thin, elastic tape applied to the skin that stretches with you rather than restricting movement. It is used as an adjunct — for comfort, for managing swelling, and as a cue that reminds you where a joint or muscle is during activity.

It is not a treatment on its own, and we will not present it as one. Where it is useful, it is useful because it makes it easier to do the active work that actually drives recovery. Response varies from person to person, and if it is not doing anything for you, we will say so and stop.

The education half matters as much as the application. Tape that has to be reapplied every few days is impractical if the only person who can apply it works here, so we teach patients, parents, and athletes how to do it themselves.

What to expect

  1. An honest conversation about what taping can and cannot contribute.
  2. Application in the clinic, with attention to skin tolerance.
  3. Step-by-step instruction so you can reapply it yourself.
  4. Guidance on wear time, removal, and skin care.
  5. A check on whether it is actually helping before it becomes routine.
