Manual Therapy
Skilled hands-on treatment used alongside active exercise to improve comfort and restore usable motion.
About manual therapy at Peak
Manual therapy covers the hands-on techniques a physical therapist uses to influence joint and soft-tissue mobility — joint mobilization, soft-tissue work, stretching, and guided movement.
At Peak, manual therapy is a tool rather than a treatment plan on its own. It is most useful when it opens a window of easier movement that can immediately be reinforced with active exercise, so the change lasts beyond the visit.
Your therapist will explain which techniques they are using and why, and will always work within what feels reasonable to you.
What to expect
- An explanation of which techniques are being used and what they are for.
- Hands-on treatment matched to your comfort and tolerance.
- Active exercise immediately afterward to reinforce the change.
- Reassessment so you can feel what changed.
- A home program to maintain gains between visits.
